It is in all the million tiny things, when you added them all up, that it is found that he is absolutely perfect for her.

He calls her his Queen Bee Vinkel , two names in one with reference to her uniqueness for him.
As much as the Queen Bee in nature is unique in her population, so is this unique iron woman.
To him she is his life’s compass, with the ability to care and guide through whichever storms life may brings.
The afrikaans language has a saying “they are like ‘vinkel en koljander” which refers to how closely alike they are and which is exactly the nature of this woman.
Close and protective with an unconditional and nonjudgemental love unique to find in todays world.
Our Story
It could have been a blonde moment or destiny with our meeting 11 years ago. My story very different from his. But we do agree we met in Durban at a conference when I was looking for a place to sit. Our path’s colliding for a short while. Life is interesting and it took us away from each other, each on his/her path. Facebook stalking in the latter years, a chat here and there – then a coincidental visit to his hometown….

Handfasting
Handfasting is a traditional Irish practice that refers to the making fast of a pledge by the joining of hands.
Instead of confetti we will be asking our friend and family to participate in the handfasting with us.
Bring a ribbon, scarf or piece of rope that you associate with us. Add to this a message with your rendition of memories and wish for joining us together. The message will go in a box and the ribbon, scarf or rope will be used by you to unite us together by tying of hands and well wishes.
